The Principal of Fisher Elementary School urged Sydney McGee, a 28-year, award-winning teacher, to arrange a field trip and take fifth-graders to the Dallas Museum. The Principal recommended and approve the trip. The students' parents signed release forms approving their children's participation in the trip. Everything went as planned and approved, but Sydney got fired. Why? Because there was a nude statue in the museum and some of the kids told their parents they saw it.
Parents blamed the teacher for a decision that was clearly their own. The Principal, who suggested the trip in the first place, spinelessly colluded with the parents' dysfunction and fired an excellent teacher.
