Employees Sign Their Lives Away at Halliburton

"[Halliburton's] KBR subsidiary has lost 91 employees and subcontractors to violence in Iraq since the war began in March 2003."

Employees are suing saying the company is not protecting workers. The company says it's the Army's fault their employees were killed and it should be immune to lawsuits because the employees signed waivers that the company wouldn't be liable if they died at work.

Lesson to employees who are still alive:

If your employer requires you to sign a document absolving it of any responsibility for what happens to you on the job, don't trust your employer to take precautions with your safety—it has no incentive to do so. Find another job if you want to stay alive—especially if the former CEO of your company had a part in starting a war, based on false premises, that kills the soldiers your company says are supposed to protect you while it profits from this war.
